Adjuvant Intravitreal Bevacizumab for Retinal Neovascularization in Eales’ Disease Associated With Latent Mycobacterium Tuberculosis

We report a case of bilateral Eales’ disease managed with intravitreal bevacizumab. A 32-year-old woman history bacillus Calmette-Guerin vaccine, administered when she was 10 years old, presented five-day scotoma in the temporal field her right eye. dilated fundus exam and fluorescein angiography showed retinal peripheral capillary non-perfusion, neovascularization eye, deep intraretinal hemorrhages left Her laboratory workup resulted positive QuantiFERON-TB Gold test (Cellestis Ltd, Carnegie, Victoria, Australia). Chest computed tomography calcified granuloma lung. Angiographic-guided pan-retinal photocoagulation performed, injections bevacizumab (1.25 mg/0.05 mL) were both eyes over course three months. The resolved after months therapy. Three following treatment, patient normal findings without any evidence recurrence visual acuity 20/20 eyes. Intravitreal combination angiography-guided may be efficacious select patients disease.
